Day Support Services are provided for people with disabilities. Individual programmes of support are prepared in consultation with each person, the aim being to enable people to attain the highest level of independence appropriate to them.
Many attend Inspire in order to enable a period of respite or a break from day to day duties at home for family and friends. Generally service users attend as part of a package of care organised by a Care Manager with the London Borough of Bexley.
This service is run by a Day Service Officers (DSO’s), which are supported by Personal Care Assistants (PA’s) and managed by a Senior Day Service Officer.
DSO’s undertake an important role in coordinating the range of activities available and overseeing the individual support plans.
Some of the daily support activities may include:
- Glass Painting
- Yoga/Fun Fitness
- Cooking and Baking
- Quiz groups
- Bocce ball and bowls
- Active and table Games
- Horse Riding
- Computer and IT support
- Access to local college, job interviews and placements
The PA’s on shift support the individual with personal care requirements as and when needed. For those who are unable to travel independently, transportation arrangements can be made separately.
Respite or Short Break Accommodation
In addition to Day Support Services, Inspire has two "respite" properties which are available to people who may require adapted accommodation for a short period. The properties are useful when an individual completing the day to day tasks for a loved one requires a short break including taking a holiday or when a person with a disability leaves hospital and requires specific accommodation as part of their rehabilitation programme.

Many thanks for your help. I found the service excellent and your kind attitude was very much appreciated.
Came for an assessment but was also helped with a walking stick and information on attendance allowance for us. For us, personally, you could not improve your service to us. You all attended my mother in a kind, friendly and professional way.
